FAQ
QUESTIONS OUR CUSTOMERS ASK
Straight answers for the contractors, councils, utilities and event organisers weighing up traffic management for a job.
WHAT IS NZGTTM AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT MY PROJECT?
NZGTTM is the New Zealand Guide to Temporary Traffic Management, the national framework from NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi. It took effect on 1 July 2026 and moves the industry to a tailored, risk-based approach. In practice your TTM is matched to the real hazards of your site, which can mean safer, faster and leaner setups when it is done by a competent team.
IS SAFE ROAD SERVICES NZGTTM READY?
Yes. Our team is trained and competent in delivering TTM that complies with the NZGTTM format, with staff qualified in TTM risk review and risk assessment. We were ahead of the curve on the change.
ARE YOU TOTIKA PREQUALIFIED?
Yes. We are prequalified through the Tōtika scheme, which keeps us accountable to a high health and safety standard, useful when we are on your prequalified supplier list or tender.
WHAT AREAS DO YOU COVER?
The central North Island, from two depots in Hamilton (Rukuhia) and Thames (Kopu): Hamilton, Waipa, Cambridge, Matamata, Otorohanga, Waitomo, Hauraki, Thames and the Coromandel.
CAN YOU PREPARE AND GET OUR TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT PLAN APPROVED?
Yes. We design compliant, risk-based TMPs to the NZGTTM format and submit them for approval by the appropriate Road Controlling Authority. We also handle Corridor Access Requests and RCA notifications.
DO YOU OFFER 24/7 CALLOUT?
Yes. We provide 24/7 callout across the Waikato and Coromandel for both planned works and emergency or reactive response.
WHAT SIZE AND TYPE OF JOBS DO YOU HANDLE?
